Kempambudhi Kere is arranged behind Jinke Park, Chamrajpet, Bengaluru and spread crosswise over 47 acres of land. Kempe Gowda I (1513-1569), the Vijayanagara kingdom chieftain who is credited with establishing Bengaluru, constructed the lake for his family god, Kempamma in the sixteenth century. A few sources state Kempambudhi is the primary lake in the Vrishabhavati stream arrangement. The lake was at one time the life of Old Bengaluru (Chamarajapete and Basavangudi) from where the city prospered. And the Kempambudhi lake is set to be a center of tourist attraction for the Bangalore. And it is under control of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
